Alex Brownsell and Sam Teasdale are expanding their East London empire with the Bleach Bar, a pop-up bar just a few doors down from their colourful salon which bears the same name.
Open for ten weeks only, the bar will serve up cocktails
as colourful as the hair Bleach is famous for. And, in keeping with the salon's star quality, a few celebrity familiar faces will be popping up behind the bar to test out their drink-serving skills.
Unsurprisingly, the bar looks the part with interiors designed by David White, who has worked on projects for designers including Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton and Acne. He says: "Having the chance to collaborate with a brand that has such a strong existing language has been an exciting and interesting process. It’s been a challenge finding a way to apply their vision/style to a space without making it appear overly branded. We looked at current trends in bar design which mimic the Brooklyn aesthetic of stripping back the building to its bare bones and original features, and took that idea to a futuristic era."
"Bleach has always been a fun place to hang out and occasionally accidently host after hour parties from," adds Alex. "We are very excited to now have a bar space to socialise from legitimately! We will be bringing our brand aesthetic to the bar and making it as exciting as our salon and product range. We have a unique approach to drinking and have been collaborating with our friends on designing the space, cocktail menu an planning an exciting 10 week party schedule."
The Bar is at 428 Kingsland Road, London, E8 4AA and will be open to the public from the 14th August – 11th October, Thursday through to Saturday from 6pm-2am.
