Birmingham barber fined for dumping hair in wrong bin

A Birmingham barber has been fined £1,500 for dumping hair cuttings in the wrong bin. Daniel Lefter, who owns Barber & Beauty salon was fined by Birmingham city council after he was caught depositing hair in a residential bin.
Officers found the hair, along with letters with the salon's address, in bins in a communal area near to the barbershop. They discovered the evidence on 30 May while investigating complaints of 'bags and bulky waste' dumped in a communal area.
The business owner must now pay £1, 522 for flytipping in a residential bin. The costs are as follows: a fine of £153, a £30 victim surcharge and £1,339 in court costs.
A tweet from Birmingham City Council warned others of prosecution. "We'll search dumped rubbish to identify fly-tippers & prosecute where we have sufficient evidence "
