Darren Fowler created intricate layered and wrapped ponytails for the Bernard Chandran Autumn/Winter 2014 collection.
The show: Bernard Chandran Autumn/Winter 2014
The hair team: Darren Fowler at Clipso London
The look: Structured ponytails with layered sections and zero volume and a strong centre parting
The inspiration: Couture 'soldiers' - a refined head shape to complement the structure and intricate cuts in the collection.
The key product: L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Scruff Me
Get the Look
1. Spritz hair with L’Oreal Professionnel Techi Art Hot Style Constructor and straighten all of the hair, section by section, for an ultra-smooth finish.
2.Pull back a top section from the middle of the eyebrows at in a horseshoe shape. Clip.
3. Take the next section underneath the horseshoe section to across the top of the ear and pull into a sharp ponytail. Spray with Tecni Art Fix Design to keep the hair together and clean but not overly shiny.
4.Release the top section and part in the middle, then blend with the sides. Smooth over the back section and tie into the ponytail of the side sections.
4.Take a triangle section from the occipital bone to the hairline. Take the ponytail from above and, using the triangle section, bind tightly into the nape. Use hat elastic to bind and secure the tails together.
5.Spray with Tecni Art Scruff Me to clean up the hairline and ponytail, then tie again under the hairline keeping the head forward as you tie the nape section.
