Five stylists from the Barrie Stephen Hair group, led by artistic director Neil Smith, created vintage-inspired updos on 16 models to complement the fashion designs of students at De Monfort University, Leicester.

The university was selected as the first stop on the Queen's Jubilee tour and their long-standing relationship with Barrie Stephen Hair meant that the salon group were the first choice to style models for the prestigious show.

Neil said:  "Working backstage at fashion shows is always an amazing experience because it's fast-paced and creative, but this particluar show was even more exciting than normal. Knowing that the Queen and Catherine would see our hair work was hugely motivating and we're very proud to have been a part of the Royal occasion. It was even more of an special time because Leicester was chosen as the first destination on the Jubilee tour - with this the first event, so we really kicked off the celebrations!"
