Award-winning alter ego hair stylist shoots in amsterdam

Verity Brooks from Alter Ego Hair in Colchester was recently whisked away to Amsterdam for a photoshoot, having won an in-salon people's choice competition. Stylists at the salon were tasked with creating a series of images inspired by comic heroes and villains, with the finished results posted on the group Facebook page. Clients were then invited to vote for their favourite image, before the lucky winner was crowned. Verity scooped the most likes for her image, with a whopping 335 votes seeing her win the chance to jet to the Dutch capital for her very own shoot. As well as getting to shoot images for her portfolio, Verity was also provided with professional models, a stunning houseboat location and an expert photographer. Verity's hair for the shoot was inspired by laidback festival style, with loose curls and undone tousled hair. She says: "I wanted the shots to have some traditional elements, hence the pretty dresses but with a real edge. If you look closely the print on the dresses is a series of skulls, not flowers, and the hair is fairly undone but still has a bold finish!"
