Party season may be over for us mere mortals but for the Hollywood A-list, it's the beginning of a whirlwind couple of months of award shows and ceremonies.
With the Oscars, BAFTAs and Brits all coming up over the next couple of months, celebs everywhere will be working on their tans, booking in last-minute hair appointments, and avoiding carbs in a last-minute attempt to squeeze in to something short and shimmery.
The People's Choice Awards 2011 kicked off proceedings last night, with a night celebrating achievement in film, television, and music. As the first celeb night out of the year, the event attracted a suitably star-studded guestlist.

Newly-single Taylor Swift wore her trademark curls in a sophisticated updo, for a faux-bob effect. I love her punchy red lipstick, which pops nicely against her peach chiffon dress.
Jennifer Aniston stuck with her usual blonde, bouncy blow-dry, adding a touch of California cool to her statement Dolce & Gabbana trouser suit. Although she's often accused of being safe with her style, why change it when it looks this good?

The Kardashian sisters won a special 'Guilty Pleasures' award for their reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Tabloid favourite Kim looked chic with a retro beehive, which perfectly complemented her figure-hugging old Hollywood-style draped dress.
But it was sister Khloe who really got everyone talking, showcasing newly-dyed red hair. This copper tone is very different from the Kardashian's trademark glossy brunette locks, but I think she suits it - and it works really nicely with her dove grey Alexander McQueen gown.

Kristen Stewart and Katy Perry were two of the biggest winners on the night, with Katy taking two awards and Kristen and the Twilight gang sweeping the board with four prizes.
It's great to see Kristen looking smiley for once, and in a glittering Reem Acra dress, complete with voluminous, bouncy curls, there's almost a hint of Cheryl Cole to this look!
Pop Princess Katy Perry brought her usual brand of kitsch glamour to the proceedings, in a pink prom dress and glittering heels. Sometimes - when she's not wigging out - Katy's hair falls a little flat, but these tumbling curls are the perfect complement to her prom queen look.
