Aveda stylists sweep the board at north american hairstyling awards

Aveda stylists led the way at the 2012 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), with hairdressers representing the botanical brand taking three top awards.Eleven Aveda stylists were shortlisted for the awards, which recognise technical excellence and artistic expression in twelve categories.
Hosted at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, the awards also include categories for salon design and business acumen.
The three winning categories for Aveda were;

Salon Master of Business Award
Keri Davis, Carol Davis and Karla Lopez-Martinez of Gilla Rut Salon, San Diego, California won this award, which recognises a business that excels in retail, marketing, business strategy and community service.

Student Hairstylist of the Year
Cassandra Monteyro of Aveda Fredric's Institute, West Chester, Ohio won this category, which awards an outstanding student collection.

Newcomer of the Year
Sal Misseri of Ladies & Gentlemen Salon & Spa, Chicago, Illinois took the title of newcomer, which is open to stylists with less than three years of experience.
As part of the glittering award ceremony show, the Aveda Artistic Team directed by Antoinette Beendres also presented a catwalk show with five models sporting a mix of intricate braids and bobs.
