Aveda launch caps recycling scheme
By creating new caps that are 100 per cent recycled, Aveda hopes to save marine life where many birds and other marine creatures such as turtles, fish and penguins often make the mistake that colourful caps are food.
The result is tragic, animals either choke on the caps or ingest them resulting in a stomach full of plastics, which can lead to malnutrition and often death.
Vice-president of Earth and Community Care for Aveda said: "Aveda's Caps Recycling Program was created to help combat the devastating effects of plastic cap pollution, and to increase the awareness around this critical issue.
"Every cap we prevent from becoming rubbish is one less piece of plastic in the mouth of a baby seal, penguin or turtle."
