Asymmetric styling popular for special occasions
Last night was the annual Hair & Beauty Benevolent Honours Ball, held at the Hilton hotel on London's Park Lane. As hairdressers dusted down their gladrags for the first black tie event of the year, black was the obvious dominant colour of the night, but there were also splashes of colour with red being a popular choice as well. While it may have been cold outside, the heat was turned up inside with one look that proved to be the style of the night: the side chignon. Looking around the room there were numerous asymmetric designs - messy dishevelled buns under the ear, smooth side partings with waves over one shoulder, and flowers used to add interest to the hair. It is easy to create, adds interest round the face and neckline and is guaranteed to be one of the most asked for styles for special occasions this year.
