Hairdressing icon Ann Herman was recognised for her achievements this week with a tribute lunch and presentation of a biography, documenting her years of hard work in the industry.
The industry doyenne was celebrated for her role as
patron de honor of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing; an organisation she has been involved in for 30 years - most recently in the capacity of director of events.
More than 150 guests attended the top-secret lunch at The Langham Hotel in London, which was billed as A Tribute to the Absolutely Fabulous Ann Herman.
Past Fellowship President Mark Creed and past Fellowship Chairman David Drew led proceedings, which saw tributes flood in from a host of hairdressing stars including Herbert Howe, Alan Richardson, Antony Mascolo and former colleague Dawn Bentnall, who made a surprise visit all the way from Australia.
Daniel Galvin, Jamie Stevens and Guy Kremer were also amongst the guests who shared their memories of working with Ann over the years.
Julie Bellinger-Gibb then presented Ann with a biography she had written about her auspicious career, before Fellowship President Errol Douglas MBE closed the event with a presentation of the Fellowship Gold Medal and stunning bouquet, and a well-received serenade from musician and vocalist Al Vosper.
Ann told HJi:
Where do I start? Words still escape me, although manners prompt me to put something on paper – apart from the obvious heartfelt thanks. As I said on the Absolutely Fabulous day, I have one wish and that is to ensure that each and every Fellowship member enjoys their Fellowship time as much as I have. Thank you to each and every one of you for taking the time out of your very busy schedules and being part of such a marvellous memoir.
