Top session stylist, Angel Montague-Sayers from the Sally Montague Hair Group, has created a series of hair hats - handcrafted and woven entirely from wefts.

Taking her inspiration from the memorable oversized hats in the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2012 collection and the ensuing ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel, the hats hark back to silhouettes from the Edwardian era.

Angel says: "I was completely blown away by the beauty and elegance of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Louis Vuitton advertising campaign, which inspired me to create my own version of the hats using hair.

"The hat in the centre was made by basket weaving hair to form a huge piece of material which was then moulded into shape. I wanted the fabrics to add and create depth, so I used three different shades of wefts. The blonde hat on the right was created by twisting the hair wefts until they buckled on themselves. These were then all sewn together. I wanted to give the red braided hat a tribal twist. Braids of all different size, texture and colour were entwined together to form a strong structure. I wanted the hats to be entirely made of hair, so any sewing that was required was done using strands of hair wefts."
