And the winner is...
Well I finally have myapprentice! The final took place on Tuesday and it took a long time toorganise. There were three parts to the challenge and the first was aboutfashion. Jason Gardener dressed two models in a 1950s outfit and Romy and Bradhad to come up with a hairstyle to complement it. Think Mad Men.
The second challenge was working with wigs. I feel it is very important to be able to cutand style wigs as we work with them a lot. The outfits wereromantic, soft and floaty and I wanted to styles to reflect that.
The final (and hardest) challenge was for Romy and Brad to pick their ownbrief. Romy chose the 80s and Brad chose a Tribal theme. We were looking foravant-garde hairstyles so i wanted to see lots of imagination. They also got to pickthe clothes for their model and work with the makeup artist to create the wholelook.
They were given 30 minutesfor their 50s style, 45 minutes for the wig and 50 minutes for avant-garde. I would have been pushed to finish in that timeframe. I wanted to put them under pressure to see how they handled it. To makeit a little easier we gave them the brief a couple of days before hand so theyhad some time to think about it and practise. It also gave them time toresearch.
It was a really tough decision but in the end we decided that the winner shouldbe Brad. I think Romy is a little superstar in the making but Brad was soconsistant the whole way through the competition. I'm really happy and hisTribal avant-garde was bang on! Congratulations Brad!
