Alternative hair visionary awards finalists

Thirteen may be unlucky for some, but not for the talented hairdressers who will appear on the stage at the Albert Hall after being selected as finalists of the 2008 Alternative Hair VISIONARY AWARDS took place last week. Entries were of a particularly high standard and the judges, Anthony Mascolo, Joshua Galvin and Tony Rizzo, were thrilled that everyone had followed the criteria of creating a look that showed artistic influence from the work of Vidal Sassoon. After a rigorous judging process the esteemed trio selected the following hairdressers as 2008 Alternative Hair VISIONARY AWARDS finalists: Anne Veck  -  Anne Veck Yesmin O'Brien  - Sean Hanna Adam Harris -  Martin Gold Salons Andreas Gresiak - TomCo Kelly Blaylock -  Hair Ott Charles and Karen Dodds - Cutting Room Creative Alex Green  -  hob salons Scott Smurthwaite - Cream Ken Picton -  Ken Picton Paul Corbett - Francesco Group Tommy Van Der Veken - Tommys Hair Company Toby Brown - Browns Tracy Devine - Angels Each finalist will create their individual 'look' on their chosen model on the night of the Alternative Hair Show, October 19th.  The winner will be selected by Vidal Sassoon and will be announced during the evening. The winning hairdresser will then participate in an Alternative Hair Show during 2009, either in the UK or Vienna. Alternative Hair President, Anthony Mascolo, said: "I was really impressed to see how everyone took Vidal Sassoon as their reference and added their own stamp to what they did. This showed real thought. "It is also great to get new teams of hairdressers involved with Alternative Hair and of course, to help raise money for Leukaemia Research. I want to thank everyone who took the time to send in an entry. "The finalists now have a lot to look forward to: appearing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, which is absolutely awesome in itself, and also having their model judged by Vidal. He's going to have a tough job."
