HJ Live North took place in Manchester from 21 - 22 October alongside Professional Beauty North. Below are the highlights including which brands exhibited and the big acts that graced the two live stages.
The hair section of the show saw distributor Alan Howard show that they are a one-stop shop for hair supplies – they had stands for brands such as Alfa Italia, Matrix, Sexy Hair and new brand Amika which created a buzz. Salon Success and Salon Services were showcasing brands such as Olaplex, Celeb Luxury, Rusk, Maria Nila and many more. Other stands included Akito Scissors where the Famous F2 proved popular (the latest news is that a left-handed version will be coming soon!)
The HJ stage, in association wth the Fellowship, provided two days of free and inspiring education for visitors. The Fellowship hosted big names such as the Trevor Sorbie artistic team for L'Oréal Professionnel, Anne Veck and Medusa and in the afternoon on both days HJ invited hairdressing greats such as Guy Kremer, Saks Art Team (who wowed with their avant garde creations) and Robert Eaton.
It was a big show for barbers and men's hairdressers too. The British Barbering Association held heats for their Britains Best Shave competition in a boxing ring. JL Aesthetics by Joseph Lanzante provided information on their micropigmentation service and male hair loss replace systems and Wahl hosting a stand which saw its limited edition Cordless Super Taper fly off the shelves.
The HJ Men stage in association with Wahl also came to HJ Live North for the first time. It hosted crowd pleasers such as the Wahl Artistic Team which included Wahl Barber of the Year James Beaumont, Ruger and Outline Creative Team (who had Chet Johnson star of Ex on the Beach modelling and causing quite the frenzy!) The stage also provided a platform for HJ Men first timers Teddy Edwards Cutting Rooms, Murdock London and Tony Haresign.
It was an amazing two days that inspired, educated and informed visitors about the hair industry. Bring on 2019!
