UK hairdressing is the best in the world, but it's not just about the top names and celebrity stylists. We find out more about one of hairdressing's rising stars to find out who inspires them.
Name: Ayesha Caton
Age: 22
Job title: Colour specialist
Place of work: MACK, Chelmsford
Training and qualifications: L'Oreal Professionel Colour Degree, NVQ Levels 2 and 3
Best advice ever given: Push yourself out of your comfort zone; it will be worth it.
Career highlight: Winning the Young Colourist Award at the 2010 L'Oreal Professionel Colour Trophy
Favourite celebrity hairstyle: Jennifer Aniston - I love her new lighter colour and shorter cut.
Best part of the job: Making people feel great about themselves
In the next five years I want to... Enter more competitions, and continue to develop my hairdressing skills.
My hairdressing hero is: Trevor Sorbie
Worst part of the job: I don't think there is one, although it would be nice to work more sociable hours! That's the industry we are in though, and it's not likely to change as it's about consumer demand.
My inspiration comes from: Everything. I look at catwalks, buildings, art - inspiration can be found anywhere.
If I wasn't a hairdresser I would be: I've always wanted to be a hairdresser, but if I was pushed to choose another career, I'd say midwifery.
