Alice in wonderland gets the chop

Alice in Wonderland has taken the box office by storm and leading lady Mia Wasikowska, who wears story book lengths in the movie, now sports a modern crop.

The Aussie actress looks fresh and on-trend with her cute chopped locks which can be worn messed up for a modern or punky feel and slicked down for sophisticated, dressy finish.

Recent converts to the pixie crop have included Carey Mulligan who has pulled off a similar style in recent months. Mia's take appears to be a little more textured than Carey's with some longer, playful pieces in the cut.

Mo Nabbach, Co Owner of M&M Hair Academy loves her new look. "Mia has moved away from her  fairytale curls for the film that propelled her to fame  and opted for the chop which I think is a smart move for young actresses to not get stereotyped!

Mia may have even been inspired by another famous Mia - Actress Mia Farrow who sported the famous Vidal Sassoon crop in iconic horror movie Rosemary's Baby.

Although she suited her lengths, Ms Wasikowska's fresh take on the pixie crop makes her stand out from the red carpet crowd and works well with her beautiful features.

Says Mo: "This look is edgy and modern and I love how the texture is perked-up with highlights - a refreshing change from Hollywood's standard uniform of long blown out curls. Look out for Mia fronting fashion campaigns soon!"
