Afro hair trends for autumn/winter 2010
Embracing natural texture is key for Afro hair this season - whether it is tight curls or long relaxed lengths.
Shape and form work hand-in-hand as hair takes on voluminous shapes and rustic tones.
Halle Berry and Alexandra Burke are already on-trend, with Rihanna leading the way with her bold colour choices and daring cuts.
"This season we will see a lot of long, straight hair - exceptionally long hair is coming back for Autumn/Winter but it has to look amazing, healthy and shiny.
"Soft waves and curls are big for Hollywood red carpet glamour. Alongside this will be more structured and geometric natural hair.
"Short crops are still popular with bold accent colours like reds and purples to really make a statement - Rihanna is a style leader when it comes to this look."
Errol Douglas, London
"Autumn/Winter 2010 will see an element of strength throughout the perimeter of Afro cuts producing strong shapes, but they will be filled with soft movement in the layering, giving a bouncy, fluid accent to the look.
"Full, soft fringes with massive, yet groomed, volume will be huge, as well as autumnal shades of soft coppers and caramels for the fairer clients, or deep reds and violets for darker tones."
Craig Chapman, Craig Chapman, Launceston, Cornwall
"Autumn's big trend is all about the asymmetrical look, whether short or long, worn wavy with a central or a natural parting. Bobs will also be a huge style for the season and will be texturised and worn jaw-length."
