Colour-Campaign-logo.jpgOver the next three months we'll be sharing lots of tips and techniques from some of the country's most-respected hair colourists for improving your hair colour business.

Here's how Sarah Brookes of TIGI added intense hints of plush auburn and russet to give the illusion of setting these long flowing locks ablaze.

  • TIGI-Anthems.jpgTake a large oval shape through the crown area. On one side of the natural parting, take a small triangular shape.
  • Underneath the triangle shape, take out a large rectangle incorporating the side area. Through the other side, take a large triangle shape incorporating part of the fringe area.
  • Apply block colour to the roots through the underneath area using a medium colour of Russet. Next, using colour meche strips, apply the same colour through the mid-lengths and ends.
  • Apply a darker colour of Plush auburn through the rectangle shape, working straight through from roots

    to ends.
  • In the oval shape, apply Plush auburn from the roots to ends.
  • Working with the smaller triangle shape, apply Russet from roots to ends.
  • In the large rectangle shape, work two slices of the darkest colour through the roots, and graduate the medium colour through the mid-lengths and ends. Next, slice the darker colour straight through from roots to ends. Continue working with the same slicing technique and colour choice order until the shape is completed.
  • Gently diffuse-dry hair for a soft wave and texture.
