When it comes to short hair, it's easy to think style options for big occasions are limited.
We caught up with three celebrity stylists to get their insight into how to create a head turning look.

Ruby Rose

NEIL BARTON, OWNER OF NEIL BARTON HAIRDRESSING AND GOLDWELL AMBASSADOR
'I always love short hairstyles and some clients are always put off from going short because they are afraid of styling options. However short hairstyles are so versatile and you can create a lot of edgy, sharp looks for special occasions. A quirky short cut can also do wonders for making you stand out from the crowd, just look at this stunning wet look from actress Ruby Rose. The deep scored side-parting and slicked back sides add a ‘rock n roll’ feel, whilst softer braids add dimension and femininity. A perfect style that's easy to recreate.'

Kate Mara

JASON COLLIER, CELEBRITY STYLIST AND DIRECTOR OF SMOOTH YOU TOWN SPA
'Go bold with a textured, boyish crop like the stunning Kate Mara! This is the kind of style that can elevate your clients personality and oozes confidence. Kate easily changes her crop up by mixing up her parting, adding texture by creating spiky edges with straighteners and spraying with hairspray for added hold. With this look, she has a meticulous diagonal parting with a razor-sharp mens style, teamed with subtle pink toned make up to add a girly touch.'

Carey Mulligan

ALISON STEWART, OWNER OF ALISON STEWART HAIRDRESSING
'Nobody does short hair better than Great Gatsby star; Carey Mulligan her chic, peroxide blonde is synonymous with her look and works beautifully with her eye colour. Her blunt cut is never boring or restrictive and Carey proves that by experimenting with a soft vintage wave fringe – perfect for weddings and any special occasions.'
