Last night saw the brightest lights from the British small screen celebrate a year of achievement - now we take a look at five of our favourite BAFTA red carpet hair looks. Also giving his verdict in Daniel Jordan, new creative director at Joe's Salon, Chelsea.
Alex Jones
We say: We're always a fan of braids on the red carpet and this twisted style makes for a nice update on the asymmetric plaits that we've seen so much of lately. There's a real high-low feel with the dressy, draped scarlet gown and an undone, youthful hairstyle.
They say: This side tousled rope twist is a simple effective red carpet look. It's great to see a departure from braiding and more emphasis on the pony twist. To create something similar, use UNITE Boosta and rough dry with a paddle brush. Once dry, spray in UNTIE Texturiza and use your fingers to pull through and then create the twist tying loosely at the bottom
Emma Willis
We say: An icon for short-haired gals everywhere, this sleek side-parted style has a reel retro feel. Love how it feels elegant and glam rather than too androgynous and austere.
They say: The sleek side parting oozes style and confidence. Perfect for her bone structure, adding drama and drawing attention to her eyes. A take on the 60s Twiggy’s style with its low side parting; it's both glamorous and makes a statement. Use Unite U Oil to achieve that perfect finish.
Pixie Lott
We say: Pixie looks smokin' with this flirty long fringe that she's currently rocking. The dusty blonde shade is a perfect accompaniment to the overall style too.
They say: Pixie's style is so effortless but full-on glamorous. Her broken fringe delivers softness to her face shape, while the sultry, sexy waves frame the total look easily. Use UNITE Texturiza to recreate the soft waves.
Anna Friel
We say: Brit red-carpet style at its very best; dazzling vintage-inspired gown topped off with breezy, undone waves. Anna looks great with the bob and the fun feel of the texture is perfect for her personality.
They say: Anna's statement style shows how sexy the bob really is. I love her retro styling and the simplicity of this dishevelled style complements her total look. Bobs are so versatile and while it's always dependent on the face shape, can morph to many different styles. Anna definitely gets it right with this one.
Sheridan Smith
We say: Talk about making a statement - Sherdian made our jaws drop with this dramatic new look. Whether it's for a role or just a change of mood we don't know yet - but we do love the 60s feel of the crop with its sweeping fringe.
They say: Sheridan has the wow factor, not only with her new short pixie cut but also with her statement rich colour. The elegance of her entire look oozes confidence. I particularly admire this red carpet look as not everyone can wear cropped hair. Get the look when styling by using UNITE Second Day to mould the shape.
