Name: Keith Kane
Age: 50
Salon: Keith Kane Hair International, Northern Ireland.
Keith Kane has been hairdressing for over 25 years and has won HJ's Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year twice as well as racking up 15 further nominations.
Keith has also won titles including Schwarzkopf World Champion in Tokyo, and both the Ladies and Gents All Ireland Champion titles.
What is your biggest achievement?
Being crowned the Schwarzkopf Silhouette World Champion was a very proud moment for me in my career so far.
If you weren't a hairdresser what would you be?
I have always thought I would make a great fashion designer.
How would your clients describe you?
Stylish and well-travelled!
Which one style do you wish you had created?

Audrey Hepburn
Who is your hairdressing idol?
I have always admired Trevor Sorbie.
Which hairdresser would you most like to work with (past or present)?
Vidal Sassoon

Myself and the girls in the salon
Favourite part of the job?
I love having a career where I can create different looks for clients each day - no two days are ever the same for me.
Who is your most famous client past or present?
My clients hold titles and are members of parliament but I would never reveal who they are.
Last time you were lost for words?
Never!
Which one product couldn't you live without?
OSiS Session Hairspray by Schwarzkopf Professional is my styling must-have - it's a fantastic product for up-dos and especially wedding hair.
Is there anything about the industry that makes you mad?
I always find it really frustrating when clients come to the salon with pictures of hairstyles that are just not achievable with their hair type.
What's the biggest gaffe you've made in your career?
I once forgot to add the activator in an active perm - thankfully it was on an assistant at the time and not a client!
What's the best career advice you've ever been given?
Always love what you do and you'll do well.
Last time you were star-struck?
Seeing Dana International at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.
Time you were most proud to be in hairdressing?
When my team won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the All Ireland Hairdressing Championship.
What celebrity haircut do you wish had never caught on?
Jennifer Aniston's 'The Rachel'!
What haircut would you love to make a come-back and how would you re-invent it for the noughties?
I have always loved the Stack Perm but it would prove too pernament for today's girls who like to change their look often, so I would just perm set it so they could still have fun with the look.
