10 Reasons to Attend Salon International

Colourists, hairstylists, apprentices and educators – you will not want to miss this year's Salon International. Here are the reasons why you should attend Salon International 2024, which is taking place at ExCeL London on 12 to 14 October 2024

 

 

1. There's free education for everyone Salon International

Whether you are an established hairdresser or a hairdressing student or apprentice, get ready for hairdressing tips, tricks and techniques by the biggest names in British Hairdressing on the four free live stages at Salon International! The HJ Stage, Modern Barber Stage, Colour Stage will be returning and there will also be a full line-up on the new HJ Academy where you'll be able to watch up-and-coming artists prepping the hair before presenting the finished looks on stage.

2. Don't miss the offers and discounts 

Lots of stands will be running exclusive offers and discounts specifically for #salon24, so if you have something in mind to buy Salon International could be the place to buy it as well as give you the opportunity to try before you buy and get it at the best possible price.

3. Love the live demos on the stands

There will be hundreds of brands who will have free live demos on their stands for you so as you walk around the show you will be able to stop, look and learn from them.

4. Special price tickets for multiple days, groups and lecturers & students

Did you know that as well as one-day tickets, you can buy two-day and three-day passes? If you come as a group of more than five, you are eligible for discounted tickets. 5. Get clued up with the Business Live seminars

There’s never been a better time to identify areas to upskill and continue to navigate a successful future. Whether it’s mastering social media or building and maintaining an engaged team, this year’s Business Live schedule at Salon International will support salon owners, stylists, and freelancers through the realities of running a successful business in 2024 and beyond. Hosted over the three days of Salon International, Business Live will provide inspirational talks covering a spectrum of timely subjects, led by a range of industry specialists and experts. With insider insight, actionable takeaways, and the opportunity to ask questions and network, the seminars are an essential part of the weekend for anyone looking to develop and grow.


6. Be inspired by five Salon Masterclasses


Salon International will hold five masterclasses on Sunday 13 October where you can get up close and personal with some of the greatest minds (and hands) in the industry. 7. Enter or watch the live competitions

SNAP! competition is returning to Salon International for its second year! Allowing all hairdressers of any skill level, anywhere in the world to submit just ONE picture of their best work, the winners acorss all six categories will be crowned at #salon24. This competition is now closed. 

This competition is judged on style, cut, colour and image produced. Ten finalists in each category will be selected and these 10 images will be displayed in a Gallery at Salon International, with the winners of each category being announced live on Monday 14 October.

Meanwhile, HJ’s Extensions Competition, sponsored by Great Lengths challenges hair pros to show off their technical skills and creative abilities by demonstrating the most flawless and innovative application of extensions ending in a live awards ceremony on the HJ stage. Entries are still open - so head here. 

8. It's perfect for hairdressing college lecturers 

As a lecturer you will have access to a drinks reception on the Monday where you can relax and enjoy free refreshments while your students take in the sights, sounds and wealth of free education at the show. Plus, we know it can be expensive bringing students to the show, so we offer colleges subsidised coach hire. 

9. #salon24 is for barbers too!

In addition to the dedicated Modern Barber stage and the plethora of barbering-focused brands at the show, 2024 sees the welcome return of the Raw Talent Competition, in association with Mike Taylor Education. Searching for the best barbers in the UK, don't miss your opportunity to show off your skills for the chance to be crowned a Raw Talent Barbering Winner. Modern Barber’s Raw Talent Barbering Competition challenges barbers to show off their technical skills and creative abilities. The competition is split into three categories - Student, Graduate and Postgraduate. Entries are still open, enter here. 

10. See the #BHA24 Finalists...

...before anyone else! All the British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional finalists will be displayed in the dedicated gallery next to the Schwarzkopf Professional stand. Be prepared to be amazed.
