Just in case you couldn't tell, the film is set in the seventies - which means that we're all going to be treated some rather fabulous hair. Everyone's been saying that the perm is making a comeback and here we have it; stone-cold concrete proof of just why that might not be such a good idea. Just kidding. I'm all for the perm's comeback - this is just evidence of how far the technology has come since those dark days. These days it's all about a beachy wave or hint of volume, which I think we can all agree is a way better idea than any of these looks. I actually think Amy Adams looks rather fabulous with her red disco-queen ringlets; the same cannot be said for Bradley Cooper whose perm is a crime against hair. Jennifer Lawrence definitely drew the short straw with her updo - complete with spiralling face-framing tendrils. It's actually not too bad - there's a hint of Bardot in there somewhere - but she does look slightly like she should be posing for a 70s issue of Playboy. While Bradley's perm might be bad, he certainly fared better than Christian Bale. Formerly one of the sexiest guys on the planet, he's virtually unrecognisable with this curly kinda combover and facial hair combo. I can't wait to get to the cinema and see this one - here's to the hair and makeup team for bringing the era to life so perfectly!
