I received an email this morning from a 15 year-old who has started an apprenticeship in Yorkshire and sent me his first photo shoot to look at (left). He described his career as not a job or education, but his life. It was great to hear from someone with so much enthusiasm and excitement about his chosen career. He talked about wanting to be the best in hairdressing -- and I believe that one day we could be talking about him as a top British hairdresser. In a world where everyone wants to be a celebrity, a WAG or be earning top salaries within months of training, it was refreshing to hear from a youngester who is so enthused and willing to learn as much as he can. There are hundreds of people like him, and there is no better industry than hairdressing to offer them opportunities beyond their wildest dreams. Good luck to them all! Ruth@HJi x
