YoungHairdresser2008.jpgCalling all budding young hairdressing talent! HJi are offering you your chance to shine at the Clothes Show Live in this year's Young Hairdresser of the Year competition, presented by Hairdressers Journal Interactive and supported by Your Hair magazine.

Back for the second year running, the award is searching for talented hairdressers under the age of 30 who can wow an expert panel of judges with their interpretation of hair fashion trends.

To enter this year's Young Hairdresser of the Year Award you'll need to submit a colour photograph of a look that reflects current commercial trends.

Entries will be judged on cut, colour and style, and credit will be given for creativity and originality. The top twenty, chosen by industry experts, will be asked to recreate their look at Clothes Show Live on 7 December.

The overall winner will receive £1,000 in prize money, and their winning creation will feature as a HJ front cover.

Last year's winner, Kate Hubbard, of Royston Blythe, Wolverhampton, will never forget the moment her name was announced. "Winning in front of 6,000 people was an incredible experience.

"I have been lucky enough to travel, meet and work with my idols," she said.

Send your entry to Daniel Eversfield, Young Hairdresser of the Year, Hairdressers Journal Interactive, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey SM2 5AS by 5pm, 31 October, 2008.
