Winning wisdom with cos sakkas, london hairdresser of the year

Cos Sakkas from TONI&GUY won HJ's London Hairdresser of the Year at the 2014 British Hairdressing Awards. We caught up with Cos to find out what a win meant to him.
How did it feel to have finalised for the awards?
Felt great, there was a sense of relief almost because there is so much hard work involved. To be recognised by some of the industry's best, I saw it as an achievement just to get through to the finals.
How did it feel when your name was announced as the winner?
Unbelievable. It was so satisfying for all my hard work to be recognised.
What is the value of winning a British Hairdressing Award?
A career highlight. Great for the PR value and for attracting additional clients.
What advice would you give to others when thinking of entering the awards?
It's a big investment so you need to understand the commitment, have the best team you can working with you and a vision/goal as to why you want to enter as it is a heavyweight industry event.
