Winning wisdom with brent barlow and rosie binns

Brent Barlow and Rosie Binns at Ethos Hairdressing won HJ's North Western Hairdresser of the Year at the 2014 British Hairdressing Awards. We caught up with the winning duo to find out what a win meant to them. How did it feel to have finalised for the awards? It was so exciting. To be named alongside the top hairdressers in our region was such an honour. How did it feel when your names were announced as the winners? Unreal! We had worked really really hard on our collection so knowing all the time, effort and sleepless nights were worth it was a fantastic feeling. I don't think either of us could believe it. What is the value of winning a British Hairdressing Award? It helps push you to the next level. Not only does it bring in more business, but it also opens up more opportunities within the hairdressing industry. What advice do you have for others thinking of entering? Do it! It's always worth it. We didn't think about winning or losing at the beginning, we just wanted to create something we were proud of. We really enjoyed the process of putting together the shoot as we could be as creative as we wanted to be and, in the end, have a great collection from it.
