Winner announced for denman stage star 2021!

Denman Stage Star was back and bigger than ever before at Salon International 2021. Designed to showcase emerging talent, this prestigious award has grown into one of the UK’s leading creative hairdressing competitions. Presented by Paul Stafford, the four Denman Stage Star finalists, James Forte, James Holroyd, Nicola Hamm and Abbie Troup took to the stage to show off their talent in front of the judges Gary Hooker, Michael Young and Brandon Messinger. Hairdresser and photographer Desmond Murray also took to the stage to highlight the incredible benefits of entering and competing in this prestigious competition. The previous 2019 winner, Josh Woodman, also presented his collection on stage and spoke about the opportunities the award has given him, including travelling around the world.

Denman Stage Star Winner 2021

After much deliberation from the judges, James Forte won the award after showcasing a glam-rock shag, which he styled from wet on stage to create punk-inspired texture. On winning the award he said: "Winning this award is phenomenal, I can't describe how it feels! I know this next year is going to be full of opportunities and challenges and I cannot wait to smash every single one. It's been an amazing experience and I cannot wait to get back up on stage again." For the second year, the 2021 winner got to create their very own collection and present the looks live on stage. Photographed by British Hairdresser of the Year Award winning photographer Desmond Murray, the winner will be taken through how to create and present a collection form mood board to models and then get to photograph the collection and present it live on stage at a major hairdressing event. Plus, the winner will also receive one year of education and creative guidance from world leading academy Allilon plus one-to-one sessions with Denman Ambassadors. And that’s not all… the winner will also get to work with the Denman team on their creative shoots, attend prestigious industry events and gala dinners, work on product development and of course receive a comprehensive set of all Denman products and tools.
