Paul Falltrick, founder of
Falltricks Hairdressing, reveals the essential items he always carries with him.

For OrganisationEvery event in my life is in my tan
Mulberry Filofax, which I’ve had for more than 15 years. Diary appointments, contacts and project ideas all go in there. It contains my life.
For staying in TouchI always carry my
Nokia N95 mobile, with internet access, and when I travel I take my laptop. Both contain pictures of my collections and of my family. It’s like taking a bit of home with me.
For StylingI generally carry
Matrix Dirty Trix Messy Matte Clay, which I can use on all hair types to create distressed styles with flexible hold. And I often use it on myself too.
For InspirationMy bag is always full of images I’ve ripped from magazines. I don’t have a favourite source as I tend to scan through magazines and rip out the shots that grab my attention.
For WorkI always have at least 20 pairs of scissors with me of various lengths and angles – from
Kasho and Revolve, and six different-sized combs. I also carry a ruler, for measuring hair.
For MeMy favourite fragrance is
Estée Lauder’s Pleasures for Men and Risqué Homem men’s nail polish gives my nails an oiled look.
For LuckI always carry something from my daughter, Isabella, which she puts in my bag to surprise me. At the moment it’s Snow White’s dress from one of her toys.
For RemindersColoured pens are a must – and I always have two with me for making notes. I use red if it’s important.
