The pandemic has certainly brought the hairdressing industry together as a community and we are grateful to the team for sharing this content, free of charge, with all those who register at www.professionalbeauty.world. This really is a fantastic opportunity to see the very best at work live, at a time when we are not able to physically be together,” said Jayne Lewis-Orr, HJ's executive director.

“This is a great platform for us to show what is new and exciting at Sassoon to a much valued audience and I am really looking forward to interacting with hairdressers from around the globe live on the 9 and 12 November. I will be joined by our creative team who will also be on hand to answer questions directly via DM or video call,” said Mark Hayes, International Creative Director.

Get to know the HJ x Sassoon team

Mark Hayes - international creative director  For over 40 years, Mark Hayes has been inspiring hairdressers at Sassoon with his passionate approach to hair and his technical expertise. Mark’s signature style - a series of pared-down looks reflecting his love of modernist art and architecture - puts him at the forefront of global hair design, and his role as International Creative Director takes him all over the world coaching, teaching and inspiring. Mark began his 40-year love affair with hair as an apprentice at the busy Sassoon Salon on South Molton Street, London in 1977. After completing the Sassoon intensive apprentice programme, Mark became a first level stylist in the chic Sloane Square salon in 1979. Mark knew instantly where his career should go - he wanted to become a member of the Creative Team. “They were perfectionists who were totally committed to producing the very best and I was completely inspired by them.” Danielle Harvey – UK assistant creative director  Danielle’s journey with Sassoon began back in 1988 when she worked as an Assistant at the Covent Garden Salon. Upon qualifying, Danielle moved to the North of England to work as a Creative Cutter at the Manchester Salon, during which time she built up a strong client base and was called upon to groom an array of 90’s popstars and TV celebrities. In 1993 Danielle moved back to the London Academy as a Cutting Instructor where she enjoyed imparting her knowledge across a range of courses and, as a result of her dedication and commitment to Sassoon, saw herself promoted to Senior Creative Director. Today, Danielle leads the Academy Team to strive to their highest standards. Caroline Spencer – senior colour director  Caroline’s career with Sassoon began at the age of 15 when she joined the Apprenticeship Programme following a chance encounter at a Careers Convention. During her training, Caroline soon realised that her true passion was in colour and credits UK Colour Director, Edward Darley, Tracey Hayes and Julianne O’Brien for each giving her a different take on colour and encouraging her to develop her unique talent. On completion of her Apprenticeship, Caroline joined the London Academy as a Colouring Instructor and now holds the coveted position of Senior Colour Director. Caroline has developed a reputation as a Master Colourist with her finger on fashion's pulse and frequently travels across the world with Sassoon, working alongside the International Creative Team on a wide range of seminars and shows. Last year, Sassoon celebrated its 65 year-anniversary with an exclusive live show at Salon International - click here for the beautiful hair images from the show.  Don't forget to click here to register for free for the HJ x Sassoon exclusive virtual event taking place on 9 and 12 November 2020
