Natasha Grossman has recently been named as CEO for HOB Salons, having worked for the company for more than 19 years. As she takes the company forward, HJ caught up with her to find out what makes a good leader.
“I think a good leader has to inspire and motivate others as well as having the ability to communicate effectively,” Natasha explains. “They should be able to be adaptable in a world that is changing rapidly and have a commitment to continued learning and growth.
“Being a leader isn’t for everyone, there are certain attributes a good leader needs. My top attributes would be integrity, emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, discipline and consistency.
“One of the most successful ways in getting results is allowing the team to have a voice, and gaining an understanding of what motivates and inspires them. We’re all motivated by different things, so tapping into each individual and identifying the right approach to get the best out of them is what’s key.
“We always say ‘what the team help to create they help to support’ and having a team that is on board with your vision and motivated to reach the overall goal is fundamental to success. If our team is successful, then we are successful, so it’s all about creating that win-win culture for everyone.”
