What is a blog?

Published 25th May 2007 by Admin
A blog is a frequently-updated website made up mainly of short entries. The most recent entries appear at the top of the page, and the older ones further down. At the bottom of each post you'll see the name of the journalist who made the post, the date and time they posted it, as well as the Categories it appeared in. More on Categories in a moment. A blog isn't just a place for you to read what we've written - you can join in the discussion, too. Every post on the blog has the option for you to leave a comment on it, giving your own opinion on the subject. Just click on the Comments link at the bottom of an entry to do so. Some entries have a Read More link at the bottom. That means that the post was too long for the front page of the blog. If you click on Read More, you'll be taken through to the rest of the entry. Entries are broken down into Categories, which are broad topics. You can click on the Category link on the right hand column to see a page with all entries on that Category. Tags, on the other hand, are a list of things mentioned in the article. These can be companies, people or even just ideas. You can click on any tag to see a list of all entries on this blog that have the same tag. Trackbacks are links to other blogs, elsewhere on the Internet, which have written about that particular blog post. Click on the links to read those comments.
