It was all hands on deck for West Row Hairdressing recently as the seven Yorkshire salons sent a team of 10, the West Rowers, to compete in the Dragon Boat Race to raise money for Martin House Children's Hospice.

The team took to the water dressed as Amy Winehouse - complete with impeccably coiffed beehive wigs. Salon owner Marc Westerman said: "There were some very serious rowers but we had a really good time. We all dressed as Amy Winehouse and sang Rehab as we rowed down the river. We raised 1,350 pounds on the day, a good start towards the 25,000 pounds we aim to donate over the coming year for this extremely worthy cause."
