Wella professionals trend vision presents a trio of stunning shows
More than 700 hairdressers were wowed by stunning hairshows from D&J Ambrose; Toni & Guy; and Sassoon Academy at the UK and Ireland Wella Trend Vision Award 2011.
Inspired by themes as diverse as classic 20s movie Metropolis and tribal culture this was hairdressing creativity at its finest.
Toni & Guy
Jayson Gray and Pinar Necati enthralled the audience with Urban Metropolis, an editorial collection inspired by German expressionist director Fritz Lang's 1920s masterpiece Metropolis about the future as an urban dystopia.
The collection had a rebellious side with a look at the modern city landscape in all its glory, honing in on the way shapes change and morph at night into a softer, more sensual urban setting.
Strong, rebellious and robust tailoring was juxtaposed by high shine metallic detail, offering a unique tactile style and appealing femininity.
Sassoon
Bruce Masefield and Edward Darley presented Tribe 2, the second in a trilogy of collections celebrating the birth of a new contemporary cool.
In the 2010s the logic of fashion is being turned on its head - the banal homogeneity of culture is cast off as style comes fresh from the street, challenging the monopoly of the catwalk.
Fabulous presentations included Home, Zen, Beat and Young Fogeys, a look for all sectors of society.
D&J Ambrose
Darren Ambrose and Stuart Bane worked with the Wella Professionals Generation NOW team to present a celebration of colour and the opportunities the Wella Professionals colour portfolio can bring.
The catwalk came alive with innocent blondes, delicious tangerine hues, a burst of coppery reds, earthy brunettes with glistening golds and the contrast of dramatic black and smoky greys.
The energetic show really was an explosion of colour.
