Wella professionals trend vision award 2012: uk finalists announced

After an exhaustive round of regional heats, 36 UK finalists have now been selected for Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award 2012.
Representing the best of British talent, the finalists will compete at the UK & Ireland final in October before one lucky winner in each category will go on to represent the country at the grand international final in Madrid at the end of the year.
Each year, entrants are required to to interpret one of four trends defined by Wella Professionals - with more than 500 hairdressers this year entering their interpretation of Grace, Blaze, Roxy and Celeste in the Young Talent and Color categories.
From the original entries, 144 hairdressers were selected to present at four regional heats across the country, with the 36 lucky finalists announced in a glittering ceremony at the opulent Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
World-renowned beat-box artist, Killa Kela, opened the show, swiftly followed by the competitor model catwalk. Wella Professionals and Sassoon Academy then paid a fitting tribute to the late Vidal Sassoon, before Bruce Masefield and Edward Darley from Sassoon Academy showcased their new Hot Rod collection.
Taking inspiration from the work of Swiss photographer Karl Heinz Weinberger and current catwalk trends from the likes of Prada and Proenza Schouler, the collection is a bold take on iconic fifties looks.
Showcasing the new Wella Professionals ILLUMINA COLOR range, TONI&GUY and Darren Ambrose and Stuart Bane then showcased their latest collections, with Jayson Gray, Indira Schauwecker and Sonia Lyons of TONI&GUY introducing Wonder of Light Supreme Preen and White Gothic and Darren and Stuart presenting Dusk Till Dawn.
With the inspirational shows over and anticipation at an all time high, the UK finalists were then announced.
The winners from each region will now have time to prepare for the Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award UK and Ireland Final, which will take place on Monday 8 October at London's legendary Roundhouse venue in Camden.
