Marc Antoni has been in the industry for over 50 years.  How have you seen consultation change? When we first opened, there was no such thing as consultation. It was all about how many heads you could cut in a day. Nowadays, salons need to be ahead of the game. Clients are much more savvy than they were even 3 years ago. They know exactly what they want and they demand high quality service. At Marc Antoni, the consultation starts from the moment the client calls or enters our salon. Our receptionists and juniors, right through to our senior stylists know how to ensure every client’s experience is exceptional. Why do you think it’s important to be able to offer your clients a unique service? If you want a successful service business, then you have to deliver the best. Clients are more than happy to pay extra if they believe they are receiving something better than somewhere else. They want to feel special, wanted and inspired at every visit to ensure they return over and over again. Why is EnergyCode™ Mapping so different to what you have done before? It’s bespoke and unique to the client. Clients know that their Energy Code™ has been diagnosed by their stylist, which enables us to understand their hair more. The EnergyCoding™ APP has been hugely successful and makes the clients feel part of the consultation, while not taking the expertise away from the stylist. My team spent a day learning about the new range, the APP and how they can talk about it with their clients. The whole concept of System Professional is about finding your own individual EnergyCode™. Clients are used to using apps, and are impressed when we can do their consultation with a digital tool. We can log information and email the client directly. The app acts as a support as it reminds the client of their products, and before an appointment, we can check to see our client’s last EnergyCode™ to help us give a better and more personalized service. Both staff and clients love the interactivity. How does consultation help drive your business? We’ve seen a positive impact with our retail and treatment sales but it has also enabled us to keep our clients excited and inspired. From a team point of view, it’s given them a new inspired way of thinking when it comes to all parts of the client journey. What is it about the client service that gets your clients excited?
