Stylists and colourists from Wella Professionals and Sassoon Professional salons across the UK have been shortlisted to form an elite team of specialists staffing a pop-up salon at the Wella World Studio in London during the Olympic Games.

The salon, which is being run by Worldwide Olympic Partner Procter & Gamble, will be based at the P&G Salon at the Wella World Studio on Mortimer Street, W1 and will open from 25 July to 11 August.

Hair, beauty and grooming treatments will be offered to an international contingent of athletes, their families and members of the media - with an anticipated 25,000 treatments set to be administered throughout the course of the Games.

Complimentary cuts, colours, styling and conditioning treatments will be provided by Wella Professionals, Sassoon Professional, Sebastian and Nioxin, and guests can also benefit from skin consultations from Olay, make-up treatments from MaxFactor and Cover Girl and wet shaves from Gillette.

In 2011, P&G launched its 'Thank You Mum' campaign to celebrate and recognize the contributions of all mums and specifically mums of athletes. To celebrate, P&G Salon Professional will play a leading role in providing makeovers for athletes, their mums and the media. The P&G programme aims to honour the athletes' mothers as the true heroes of the Olympic Games who helped their children to their success.

P&G Salon Professional President Adil Mehboob-Khan says: "Brought together through P&G's purpose-inspired commitment to serve athletes and in particular their mums at the London 2012 Olympic Games, this exciting partnership celebrates our hero stylists alongside Olympians and their mums. By bringing together our top-standard stylists we aim to serve athletes and their mums with the best hairdressing experience at London 2012."
