Welcome to my new blog
I'm really looking forward to blogging for Hji and telling you guys all about what I'm up to!
Right now I'm backwards and forwards to Somerset where I'm getting my new salon ready for its launch at end of Feb/beginning of March, so I'm up to my eyes in building regulations - the not so fun side of hairdressing... I'm recruiting for staff at the moment, and looking forward to seeing the furniture that I've spent weeks picking go in.
I think I might be one of the first hairdressers ever to have my own salon while working in another for someone else, and I can't wait for the variety it'll bring. I'll still be in London at Errol Douglas as Art Director 3 or 4 days a week, then working in London and all over the country and world on session and my TV work with Gok Wan and Channel 4. I'll also be really busy in my new role as artistic director for Matrix, plus being the ambassador for the Fellowship's new venture "Clubstar" alongside 1 day a week in Somerset. It's essential I find really great staff and a brilliant salon manager to lead the team when I'm away, so I'm excited to start interviewing and find the "Jamie dream team"! I'd ultimately like to open another Jamie Stevens salon next year, this time in London. I'll keep you posted with developments. Big kisses to you all xxxx
