Variety is the spice of life.....
OK , so far this week it has been somewhat varied! From looking at budgets for 2011 - something anyone with p+l responsibility will be in the middle of now too - to choosing the menu for HJ's British Hairdressing Awards today with a whole lot more thrown in!
Having just written the copy for the British Hairdressing Business Awards programme, the nerves are now starting as the final details are pulled together and it becomes days not weeks to the big night. I love being out and about and hearing the speculation about who's going to win and what's going to be worn.......always a cause of much trauma in my house!
I was amazed to hear at my meeting with John Frieda and the Great Ormond Street Hospital campaign team just what this industry has been doing in order to raise much needed funds for the HAIRraising campaign - it certainly could never be said that hairdressers are not up for the challenge! From skydiving to tattoos, head shaves to bike rides - salons and individuals around the UK have done some amazing things to raise money in order to help the children at GOSH.
And as for tomorrow, a team lunch to wish Rachael Johnson, Salon International's exhibition manager and 'organiser extraordinaire' well as she leaves to wait for the imminent arrival of her first baby.......
Night night
