Treatwell, the hair and beauty booking platform, has announced that it has improved its stake in Salonized, the Dutch salon software company, becoming the sole shareholder.
After an initial investment in Salonized in July 2021, Treatwell has now acquired the business outright and will be merging Salonized’s product, team and expertise into the Treatwell Group empowering further innovation in the services available to salons.
Launched in 2008, Treatwell was the first hair and beauty booking marketplace in Europe and retains its leadership position as first-to-market today. It was purchased by Real Web in the summer of 2020, the Luxembourg-based fund has a focus on digital marketplaces across Europe.
In its mission to drive growth for the hair and beauty professional industry, Treatwell invests tens of millions of Euros in marketing hair and beauty salons (being the only player operating across 13 markets in Europe) and has to date supported over 150,000 salons across Europe with hundreds of millions of appointment bookings, contributing significantly in revenue to the hair and beauty industry in Europe.
However, this is only the start, across the 13 markets Treatwell supports there are over 900,000 salons, proudly part of an industry worth €150 billion.
