Top tips for growing a mo this movember
If you will be growing a moustache or encourging your clients to cultivate their facial hair in the name of charity this month, then you'll need to be sure that you give the look the TLC it deserves.
Jim Shaw, Director of essensuals MEN, Billericay and finalist for British Hairdressing Awards Men's Hairdresser of the Year, gives his top tips on growing a charity-supporting moustache this Movember:
Only Manly 'Mos Are A Go!
No matter how good your intentions may be, if you're thinking of growing a 'mo this Movember, make sure your facial hair will allow it first - growing the bum-fluff of a teenager is not a good look on anyone! However, if this sounds like you and you're desperate to do your bit, don't give up hope, wet shaving regularly can improve the thickness and coarseness of your facial hair, so over time you can welcome a much better, manlier moustache!
Plan Your Shape For Maximum Style
Have an idea of the shape of moustache you want to grow before you start - whether it's a traditional handlebar, biker's horseshoe or infamous 70s porn star (yes that was a legitimate look)! Trimming your growth in the right places will not only help towards your end result but stop you getting carried away and looking like you've been stranded on a desert island for too long!
Gents' Mo-Perfection Is In The Grooming!
When you've gone to the trouble of cultivating a crop of great facial fluff, there's no point leaving it looking like a fuzz explosion on your face! So gents, when you've lent your face to Movember, remember a great moustache is all in the grooming! Just the same way we look after hair, 'mos need combing to help enhance the shape and your facial features! Applying a little wax, such as Bounders Extra Firm Moustache Wax will help to keep your 'tasche tidy, in place and even add detail where you want it for a well-groomed, gentlemanly finish!
