Top five trends for spring/summer 2011

Published 01st Feb 2011 by hunsleyr

With Spring/Summer just a few weeks away, here are my top five trends for the coming season. Dust down those hair pins and ger set to create texture and length - here's my top tips for Spring/Summer 2011:

1 Long hair

After an autumn of pixie crops and elfin cuts, it's time to grow hair for long, luscious layers. Straight or wavy, it doesn't matter as long as it hangs below the shoulders.

2 Plaits

A summer favourite, plaits were once again at the forefront of the Spring/Summer trends. However, gone were the long plaits seen last year, to be replaced with braids and French plaits across the head. Perfect for a hot summer night.

3 Waves

Gorgeous, beach-babe waves were everywhere at the Spring/Summer shows. Wavy rather than ringlets, they were matte through the ends with shine at the roots.

4 Ponytails

A summer staple, ponytails will be long and sophisticated come Spring/Summer 2011. Smooth, sleek and tight, they hung down the back and swished as the models walked the runway.

5 Updos

These were seen in abundance, from sleek and smooth to dishevelled and loose. Gone was the Croydon facelift to be replaced with soft, loose, feminine and innocent buns.
