Top five ponytails for spring/summer 2011
Snow is SO last season - bring on the sunshine and the looks for Spring/Summer! Thinking about laying on a beach may seem like a million miles away, but the warmer weather is actually only round the corner, so here are my top five ponytails for the coming season:
1 Smooth and straight and sophisticated - hair at Leonard was simply pulled back to the nape for a look that will take you from day to night. Easy to achieve and great to look at.
2 Over at David Koma, hair was the mane attraction with two tails for the price of one. the L'Oreal Professionnel team pulled the top section back to the occipital bone and joined it with the tail at the nape. Make it even more interesting by showing off different colour tones.
3 if you want a more textured tail, then look no further than Louise Amstrup. The Bumble and bumble team mattified the hair before softly pulling it back to the nape and wrapping a section of hair round the base. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
4 Opt for a wet look this Spring/Summer - or try this out Richard Nicholl look on the beach. Comb hair back to the nape, leaving teeth maks in the hair and tie at the nape. While the top can be wet the contrasting dry tail adds interest. If there is a fringe, try curling it or finger waving it for added detail.
5 This ponytail from the Sado show is simple, stunning and easy to achieve. Soft and feminine, it's perfect for hot summer days in the park or in the office. The long tail is simply twisted onto itself and pinned into place.
