TONI&GUY-National-Haidrress.jpgHairdressers from TONI&GUY and essensuals salons nationwide joined forces to cut and style the nation's hair on Sunday 7th February as part of a campaign to raise funds towards a new ward for critically ill children at King's College Hospital.

Organised by the TONI&GUY Charitable Foundation, the seventh annual National Hair Day saw salons up and down the country picking up their scissors and colouring bowls for the worthy cause.

To date, the day has raised £16,000 which included profits from cuts and colours as well as additional activities such as organising raffles and selling cakes.

There was also £1,500 raised by the TONI&GUY and essensuals International Artistic team who opened the doors to the TONI&GUY academy and offered designer haircuts in the name of charity.

Artistic Team member Cos Sakkas, HJ's London Hairdresser of the Year 2008, says: "This was such a unique chance for everyone and anyone to achieve catwalk worthy hair and support a hugely worthwhile cause.

"We at the Academy are thrilled to have helped make this the most successful National Hair Day to date."
