Tigi sponsors hobbs charity show 2016 Hobbs Charity Show More than 450 of Bristol’s finest came together to watch the last, of what has become an annual Hobbs Show, one of the largest independent fashion events outside of London. The show organiser, Bristol hairdresser Doug Hobbs explains that 40 years ago his son lost his battle with Meningitis encouraging him to create this year’s show to raise awareness of this terrible disease. Sponsored by TIGI, the show named ‘Born & Raised in Bristol’, took place in the Passenger Shed for a celebration of local fashion designers, boutiques, musicians, dancers and artists, with the aim to raise awareness for the Meningitis Research Foundation. 85 models took to the catwalk wearing a variety of up-cycled clothes, designer bags, antique Japanese kimonos, vintage wedding dresses and swimwear as well as showcasing trends for Spring/Summer 2016 from Bristol’s fashion and contemporary arts scene. The Hobbs team and I were all taken back by the success of the event and most importantly how much awareness we raised for Meningitis Research Foundation. I am so pleased to say we reached more than 3 million people across social media and local newspapers, magazines, TV and radio.” He continued, “I wanted the show to demonstrate the abundance of talent within Bristol’s fashion and arts scene, but we couldn’t have done it without support.  I am so grateful to TIGI and all of our sponsors and the hugely talented designers, models and volunteers who dedicated their time to making the show a success. Finally, thank you to my incredible team at Hobbs Hair for all of their work and to all those who came along and supported us.”
