On Monday 13 November, the TIGI Inspirational Youth team showcased cut and colour live on stage at London’s Café de Paris to a lively audience. Click through the gallery to see the amazing looks they created.
Since its launch in 2004, TIGI Inspirational Youth has established itself as one of the most respected and successful youth-training programmes in hairdressing.
Leading up to the grand finale of the live show, the team underwent a 5-day ‘boot camp’ where they expanded their technical and creative knowledge, honed their presentation skills, learn about fashion and photographic work and develop as individuals and, ultimately, as a strong team.
Speaking of the programme, Anthony Mascolo, TIGI Founder and International Artistic Director said: “When I began my career, my brothers gave me the opportunity, support and inspiration to experience photo shoots and shows, which gave me invaluable skills. In turn, I want to provide today’s young hairdressers with the chance to grow their talent. They are the future of our industry.”
Taking part in this year’s TIGI Inspirational Youth, were the following:
Aidan Darcy - SugarCubed
Alice Petty - Yazz No 1 Hair Studio
Chelsey McQueen - MYKA
Christopher Read - Hobbs Hairdressing
Ellie Beth Hancock - Anthony Laban Home
Evelina Lundgren - Andrew Jose Salon
Grace Morbey - Inkfish
Rita Benedetto - Bad Apple
Sophie Garrbutt – Forresters
The night itself started with an introduction to new Global Leader Mark Bleathman. Then the Youth team showcased their cutting skills, colouring process and spoke about their inspiration. They then each took centre stage to showcase their editorial shoot they had created during the ‘boot camp’ process.
After the Youth team’s demonstrations wrapped up, the audience was treated to a throwback of TIGI’s collection for this year’s Alternative Hair Show- punk, sci-fi robots stormed the venue and made quite the impact.
