Huge congratulations to the TIGI Inspirational Youth 2015 team, who have been selected after a nerve-racking round of auditions!
The youth training programme is regarded as one of the best in the biz and lucky students will spend six days in a hairdressing bootcamp under the expert tutelage of TIGI European creative director, Akos Bodi, global technical creative director, Christel Lundqvist and European session director, Maria Kovacs.
As well as gaining guidance from this panel of hairdressing heroes, the new team will also enjoy training in classic and advanced cutting, colouring and styling, session styling, presentation skills, model casting, photographic techniques and working on camera.
Gaining a place on this prestigious team is no mean feat. The 2015 entrants initially had to submit a short film introducing themselves, as well as completing a questionnaire. From the hundreds of entries, 22 successful young hairdressers then invited to the TIGI European Academy in South London where they had just two hours to execute a cut and colour inspired by a recent TIGI Collection. Following this, the nervous group had to present their hairstyle to a judging panel that included TIGI international artistic director Anthony Mascolo and HJ's executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr.
Congrats to the lucky ten, who will be heading off to their bootcamp in September!
