This celebrity hairdresser has just launched a wellbeing journal Celebrity hairdresser and empowerment advocate Louis Byrne has launched a Wellbeing Journal aimed at encouraging others to discover their identity and to break negative behaviour cycles. Described by Louis as ‘a book of love’, the journal aims to be a positive introduction to the art of journaling, helping to support an individual through their journey of self-discovery. Packed with inspirational quotes as well as useful goal-setting pages, daily intentions and an easy-to-use layout, Louis hopes that the journal will help others examine their patterns of behaviour and key lifestyle choices in order to better understand themselves. The journal also gives insight into principles that are fundamental to wellbeing, encouraging positive habits for improved mental health. Louis has been journaling for the past five years, after some traumatic life experiences sent him on a path of self-destruction, with seemingly nowhere to turn. Encouraged by his best friend and his therapist, he began to document his thoughts to help control the confusion and sadness he was feeling. Having experienced first-hand the powerful and positive effects of this mindful routine, Louis decided to create a journal to complement his I Can I Am And I Will empowerment movement. Designed to make journaling more accessible to all, Louis believes that his Wellbeing Journal is a low-cost but effective way for manufacturers and salon owners to support the wellness of their teams. While he understands that the idea of recording personal thoughts and feelings may seem daunting at first, he has the following advice to aid the process:
  • Create positive routines and habits. Little efforts of positive behaviour daily help form a bigger, happier picture
  • Stay in the present moment. Live one day at a time to freely and honestly express yourself.
  • Keep it simple. It’s not a novel – some rough notes will do the job, so don’t overthink it and simply go with your immediate thoughts.
  • Get started! Usually, this is the hardest thing to do, as those fearful thoughts creep in – we are often so afraid of the unknown. Give it a go – you have nothing to lose!
The Wellbeing Journal is available for £20 here or visit the iciaiw.com website for more information on the #ICIAIW movement
