Cannes 2010 saw the stars sporting everything from elegant updos to sexynatural lengths. Top hairdresser Antia Cox McMillan casts her expert eye over the celebrity styles to see who got it right and who looked a fright.

"Myleene is looking great with a look that is soft and subtle but spiced up with a little bit of glam with the loose curls. This simple style shows of the great condition of her hair which is so important in the Summer months and works well with her day outfit, the overall impression is really radiant and fresh."

naomi-watts-cannes-small.jpgNaomi Watts

"Naomi usually works the classic blonde goddess / starlet wave to perfection however here her colour looks a little over processed which may have also compromised her condition. This look would benefit from improvement in texture and tone to show off the style, instead here it looks a little flat."

nicky-hilton-cannes-small.jpgNicky Hilton

"Nicky here is sporting a classic updo look with a modern twist, quite literally, with this simple style. It works as it allows her to wear the hair off her face without looking dated, drawing focus to her eyes. However the colour here is equally important as it makes her eyes really standout so colour and style are working together to great effect."

"Paris in total contrast has gone for all out glamour but it works, using texture to create a soft silhouette while maintaining a dramatic shape to match her evening wear. The colour compliments the texture in the style, giving it depth while working with her skin tone."

eva-longoria-cannes-small.jpgEva Longoria Parker

"This is fabulous, a great look for Eva. The mixture of brown shades really compliment her skin tone and accentuate the excellent condition, while flattering her olive skin tone and bringing out her eyes. The flattening of the sides helps to emphasise her cheek bones and adds definition to her face shape, while the quiff adds a slight creative twist and finishes it off perfectly."

lindsay-lohan-cannes-small.jpgLindsay Lohan

"The colour and style here are bang on trend, the ponytail has been very popular on the red carpet with different variations and textures. However on Lindsey the effect is a little underwhelming, the colour is too dark and looks over processed. We are used to seeing her with voluminous, lighter hair which works for her and is more flattering to her fair skin."

mischa-barton-cannes-small.jpgMischa Barton

"Mischa has gone for a all over nude palate with this look, including her hair with these ashy tones. In this context she looks a little washed out and pale, but this is a combination of outfit and colour, it would work better in another context. The style however is good here, a softer effect to keep the hair looking less regimented which works with this loose dress."

eva-herzigova-cannes-small.jpgEva Herzegova

"Eva is giving the on trend bob a rock chic take. This rooty look is really popular for blondes right now, and here with the messy texture creates a cool and carefree feel. This length really suits her face shape and makes this evening look really modern and edgy."
