The redken tribe celebrate their urban talent

TRIBE_08.jpgMore than 1,000 excited guests gathered in Battersea Park for Redken's Tribe 08 event. All were hoping to be  wowed by a celebration of British hairdressing and they certainly weren't disappointed.

From the-inspiring theatrical show of a marching band and drummers that kicked off the show to the host, uber cool presenter Alex Zane, and the nibbles; pan asian cuisine and fresh homemade sushi; Redken really had pulled out all the stops.

Top billing, of course, went to the spectacular hair shows, with teams from Burlingtons, The Chapel, Stafford's and iconic session stylist, Guido, each presenting a show.

Hair was an eclectic mixture that combined avant garde, with commercial high street looks and session styling at its best.

Then there was the serious business of awards, with the eight finalists of this year's Urban Talent competition all hoping to be named the Color Genius or Style Innovator.

Up against fierce competition, James Shaw, from Burlingtons, Manchester, scooped the Color Genius award; while Sian Winstone, from Aesthetics in Solihull, won Style Innovator for their on-trend creations.

As the formalities of the evening came to an end, it was time for the party to begin and, in true Redken style, it rocked into the early hours.
